Mr Jim Sullivan
In recognition of Exceptional Service to HMRI, we acknowledge Mr Jim Sullivan.
Jim was an original Board member of the Hunter Medical Research Cooperative. He was one of HMRI’s inaugural Directors and served on the HMRI Board from it’s incorporation on 12 February 1998 until his retirement as a Director on 2 February 2005.
Jim spent 22 years as the NBN News Director from 1985 until his retirement in 2007.
Hunter research has been privileged to enjoy a particularly high media profile. This is significantly due to the guidance and support to HMRI that has been fostered by Jim. Jim’s mentoring ensured that HMRI developed a culture of proactive and constructive media relations that continues to serve it well.
A major objective of the first HMRI Board was to demonstrate its commitment to the ideal that medical research provided improved health opportunities for both the local and global community. Jim Sullivan was an integral part of this process. His commitment to getting this message out to the wider community is reflected by the recognition and reputation HMRI celebrates today.
For his principled mentoring, his leadership and his belief in HMRI, please join me in congratulating Mr Jim Sullivan.
