An investment in HMRI is an investment in the health of current and future generations, all over the world.
Everybody can make a contribution to the work of HMRI. From volunteer to donor, it is the combined effort of many people coming together that fuels the success of HMRI, and helps our researchers find ways to improve the heealth of our community.
Since 1998, HMRI has awarded research grants of more than $11 million, from community and corporate donations.
Project grants and awards are a catalyst for success in obtaining highly competitive government and industry funding to further the research of our talented researchers. Our grant assessment process ensures that only the best research in the Hunter is funded.

Individual Donations
Big or small, every donation we receive can make a difference. Donations over $2.00 are tax deductible, are processed in Australian dollars and are secured using 128-bit SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption.
Should an error be made in the amount of any donation, the donor has 60 days in which to notify the Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI) of the error. All requests for refunds must be made in writing and directed by email to info@hmri.net.au, by fax to 02 4985 5909 or by post to Finance Manager, HMRI, Locked Bag 1 HRMC NSW 2310. The request should have the details of the initial donation including the date, amount, donor name, the tax invoice number and the nature of the error. Any tax invoice issued for the incorrect amount immediately becomes void and invalid, and a new tax invoice will be issued for the amount of the corrected donation.
Corporate Donations
HMRI's primary corporate partnership program is the Top 200. However, HMRI works closely with major sponsors to develop individualised and tailored sponsorship packages.
