A group of young people committed to boosting their social
lives in the name of medical research.
The objective of PULSE is to:
- Raise funds for early career researchers
- support HMRI, a charitable fundraising organisation, by hosting affordable and innovative events for young people
- Promote emerging young talent
- Raise awareness of the work of the Hunter's young medical researchers and promote their amazing achievements.
PULSE raises funds for early career researchers by hosting affordable and innovative events for the young and the young at heart!
Over the years PULSE has hosted events such as the annual PULSE Ball, Triple J Hottest 100 Australia Day Party at Bar Beach Bowling Club, the PULSE "Mystery Tour", Hunt Around the Hunter, Trivia Nights, Race Day Marquee, as well as regular movie nights and wine tastings. Funds raised by PULSE support the HMRI Early Career Medical Researcher of the Year and the PULSE Education Prizes.
In 2008 PULSE awarded funding to researchers investigating asthma and the genetics of cancer. Click here to read about this year's winners.
